Making The Treat Box
Assembly for this box goes together pretty quickly. Start with the six sided panel that makes the box itself. Fold on the score lines. Then add glue to the end tab at the end and attach to create an six sided shape.
Add glue to the inside of the bottom tabs and fold them in. Drop the bottom panel (they are identical, so either is fine) in place and press down using a pencil or other tool to better reach them.
Turn the box over and add glue to the other panel then attach to cover the exposed tabs at the bottom.
Putting Together The Lid
Repeat this process for the lid. The steps are all the same, the lid is just not as deep as the box.
Decorating The Treat Box Lid
We then started to decorate. Take the flower hexagon panel and attach to the lid.
To finish the lid, attach one of the rectangle decorative panels to each side of the lid.
Decorating The Treat Box
We set the lid aside and decorated the box. Attach one flower rectangle panel to each side of the hexagon.
Making The Bow
The bow for the box is the final part of this project. We started by making the bow itself. This is made using 3 pieces, the bow, the center, and the ribbon. You’ll note that there are 2 sets of each, one slightly larger than the other. Glue the smaller set to the larger. Do the same for the long panel that goes around the box itself. You can choose to skip this step and only use one of the sets if you don’t want the two tone color look.
To make the bow, start with the large piece with two partial circles. Curve the two rounded parts of the bow and attachthe ends to the center.
Take the short panel and wrap it around the center of the bow.
Attaching The Bow
Wrap the long ribbon snuggly around your box and glue the ends together. Be sure not to glue them to the box. Later, you can slide the ribbon off the box to fill it later with whatever goodies you want.
Add a dot of glue to the center of the ribbon on the top and attach the ribbon tails piece. We chose to use our fingers and curve the ribbon a little downward on each side before attaching.
Once this was secure, we added glue to the center and pressed the bow part into place.
