A Note About Our Gift Card Box
The bottom of the box goes together the same as the lid. The only difference is the bottom is a tiny bit smaller (to allow the lid to fit over it) and both the bottom panels are solid. Assembly is the same however.
Assembling The Lid And Base
The top of the popsicle box is made of five pieces. We chose to cut the two top panels in different shades of green to provide a little contrast and help create the appearance of the classic popsicle shape.
You’ll notice that the box for the top has shapes cut out of the tabs. Match the square to the square and the circle to the circle when assembling them and everything will line up great!
Once the tabs are all glued together for the top, fold in and make a ‘mountain fold’ at the point where the two curved pieces meet. This will help with putting the inside panel into place. Then you can put the solid panel into place. We chose to cut the solid panel a shade or two lighter than the rest of the popsicle for that added contrast.
To attach the panel and get the curve of the top lined up right, we chose to attach the short straight side as shown, then fold and glue all other tabs into place.
To get a nice tight hold, we found it easier to hold the panel into place with one hand while pushing the sides of the box into place with the other, then holding until the glue was set.
Once done, turn the lid over and place the decorative panel into place. This will cover the tabs as well, providing a finished look. We chose to add some Pebbles Inc. Chalk to it prior to assembly but chalk or ink embellishments are optional.
Adding The Popsicle Sticks
To make the popsicle sticks, you’ll find that there are two long pieces and four shorter ones. The four short ones are intended to be stacked. Each of the long ones will have one of these stacked stick assemblies glued to them to add a little height/depth.
The thick part of the sticks is left out, allowing the thinner part to be glued to the back of the box bottom.
