Between the excitement of Easter egg hunts (not just for the little kids!) and family dinner, this holiday is a special occasion for everyone. We have some DIY Easter ideas and new projects to make this Easter extra special!
Dinner Table Decor
First things first: whether you prefer a traditional feast or a more contemporary menu, the focus is on spending quality time with loved ones. (Our family likes to do a pot-luck style dinner: the host makes the main dish and everyone else brings a side – so easy!). It takes so much pressure off this way, which allows for everyone to relax and have a bit more fun!
Before the big day gets here, we are doing a little extra and planning the dinner table “look”. While DIY Easter decorations don’t have to be elaborate or expensive, simple touches go a long way! We’re planning to use a pastel colored tablecloth, some flowers, and also our adorable new DIY Easter belly boxes.
Our new sheep, bunny, and Easter chick belly boxes can hold some yummy candies and will be placed at each spot at the kids’ table. Finally, we’ll use our new cute bunny top hats (those to come, keep an eye out!) at the adults’ table. The hats act more as table decor than as individual gifts, though the top also opens so we could hide a little something inside!
What Really Matters
Easter is a time to embrace the joy of togetherness, egg hunts, family meals, and (for our family) Easter Sunday church service. So however you spend the day, we hope you get to have a fun easter egg hunt and some time with family or friends!
Side Note:
We are totally in love with the the back of our little belly boxes! How cute are those tails! We’re hoping one of the CRDD kiddos wants an animal themed party. Or a farm party. Or maybe a nursery rhyme party. Just so we can make a bunch of these little guys and put them out on the table!
Materials
Cute little decorations like these belly boxes don’t need a lot of supplies to make. These little guys are made using these supplies.
- Recollections Cardstock
- Cricut Cuttlebug embossing folder – swirl pattern on the sheep
- ColorPetal Ink (edging on the Egg)
- Pebbles Chalk (edging on the bunny)
- Electric Cutting Machine: Cricut or Silhouette
- Art Glitter Glue with metal tip (it helps!)
With just a little extra touch these little guys come to life!
