The movie reel for the gift box (the large box) and the treat box (the small version) are assembled the same. The only difference is their size. The top and bottom of this box are also assembled the same. The only difference between the top and bottom is the top is slightly larger than the bottom so it can fit over the bottom Also, the lid of the box has a decorative panel that goes around the sides.
Assembling the Film Reel Box
To start, we took the side panels and attached them end to end to create a circle.
Next we folded the tabs outward and added glue to them. Then we slid the ring down and into place over the tabs.
With this done, we turned the shape over and attached the assembled decorative panel.
At this point, if you are assembling the bottom of the box, then it is complete.
Decorating The Lid
To decorate the lid, we added the decorative side panels around the outside of the lid, lining the up and to end. This gives the lid a film reel look rather than just the solid color the bottom of the box has for the sides.
