Conversation Heart Top Vs. Bottom
The top and bottom of this box go together the same. The only difference is they are slightly different sizes so the top can fit over the bottom. You can keep the pieces straight by looking for the small circle cut out. The side panels and the heart panel for the bottom of the box have a small circle cut out. These are to help keep the correct pieces together.
Assembling the Top and Bottom
To assemble, start by the tabs on the score lines. Then add glue to one of the end tabs and attach to the other side panel.

We then added glue to a couple tabs at the bottom. Choose a few that are on one side or the other of where the two panels come together. The point where they meet is going to be the center of the heart where it curves in at the top. Once you have glue on these tabs, press the side panel (folded where the two panels meet) into the top of the heart and attach the tabs. Once you have the first couple tabs attached, you can add glue and attach the remaining tabs.

With one side of the heart complete, attach the tabs on the other side. When you have all the tabs attached to the heart pannel, add glue to the end tab and attach the two side panels together.

Repeat these steps for the other half of the box.

Decorating The Conversation Heart
With these two complete, it’s time to decorate the box itself. There is a second heart shape for the bottom that does not have a hole cut in it. This is to go on the outside of the box bottom, covering the tabs. Add glue to the box bottom and attach the decorative panel. Press into place to get a secure hold.

The decorative panel for the lid is attached in the same way. However, we found it easier to add the sentiment before attaching the panel. We chose to use viny for the sentiment, though you could use cardstock if desired.
