You can never be too ready for Christmas!

We used several products and supplies in the making of this cute little wreath. Below is a list of what we used.

That’s it! There’s not a whole lot to these but they are so cute!

We love how this Christmas wreath came together!  We designed this with the idea that we wanted something simple and understated to add to our decorations. The svg cut file includes a ring that can be cut out and used as the base.  We have done this with brown paper a few times and it looks great!  As a bonus we have plenty of brown Recollections Cardstock on hand so we can always put one of these together.

Making the Wreath Base

For fun, we also decided to try using some naturally vine wrapped craft wire. To get the wreath the same size using the wire, we wrapped it around a new/ unused roll of paper towels as this got us very close to the same size. We wrapped our wire around a couple times then used the ends of the wire to wrap back on itself, holding the ring shape together. This gave us a nice semi-organic base to start building the wreath on.

Glue – It’s not all the same!

Normally we use Art Institute Glitter Glue when working with cardstock. This is what we used when working with the wreath on the cut out paper ring. The fine metal tip works great to control the amount used and placement of the glue! However, for the wire wrapped version, we changed to hot glue. This glue worked better for affixing pieces to the wrapped wire. The hot glue set faster than our usual glue and created a more secure and durable connection between the different materials.

Final Touches

We happened to stumble across these little red glitter berries at the craft store. They are marked as ‘filler beads’ but they looked like they’d work perfect for this project. The do really pop against the lighter green juniper sprigs!  Our file includes a paper version of the berries. We could have added glitter to or used glitter cardstock when cutting them out. However, we wanted a more 3D appearance and were so excited when we found these mini decorative filler balls at Michaels.  I’m not sure what they are actually intended for, but they work perfect for this!
