A Note About Our Donut Box
The top and bottom of the bar donut are assembled the same. The only difference between the two is the bottom is a little smaller so the lid can fit over it. And the top has a decorative panel that gives it the classic maple bar donut look.
Assembling The Lid And Base
The top and bottom of the donut box are each made of two straight side panels, two curved panels, and the bottom/top to close off that half of the box.

To start, we worked on assembling the top (though you could do the bottom first, they are identical aside from size so the assembly is the same). We took one of the curved end panels and folded along the score lines. Next we added glue to the small triangle tabs between the panels and attached to the neighbor, creating a curved end. Repeat this process for the other curved panel.

Take the long, straight sides and curved them along the score lines. Then, add glue to the end tabs and attach one straight panel to the end of the curved. Once the tabs were secure we added another straight panel to the other side. We continued this until we had all four panels attached end to end, creating the elongated circle shape of a bar donut.

Once we had the completed loop, we folded in the bottom tabs and added glue to the inside. We then placed on of the oval panels to close off the shape. With this secure, we turned the box over, added glue, and covered the exposed tabs with the other oval shape.

You can set this aside now and repeat this process to make the other half of the box. Once done it’s time to decorate the top.
Decorating The Donut Box
To decorate the top, we layered the two decorative panels together. You can add this to the lid to finish off the bar donut. We chose to add a moderate (not super thing) layer of mod podge to the icing only (this is easiest done before attaching the icing to the lid) and once completely dry, we glued the icing panel to the lid of the donut. We left the mod podge to dry overnight before attaching it to the lid.
